Design Group: Principal
Design is central to Cathy Hayes’ philosophy.
For Cathy, design doesn’t stop at a certain point, it flows through the entire construction process, from initial design concepts through to documentation and final construction. She is known for pushing the boundaries and ensuring that the best design thinking and innovation is central to all her projects. Her role at Ridley is to seek to challenge and transform the process in order to take great design to realisation in inspired built structures.
With over 25 years’ experience as a registered architect, and as a Prince2 practitioner, Cathy has a wealth of experience, a passion for the management of organisations, and a hunger for continual learning, which fuels her current study of an Executive MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM). Having studied under the likes of Glenn Murcutt, and Peter Stutchbury at the University of Sydney, and in the international Glenn Murcutt masterclass, Cathy is not only design focused, she is also inherently entrepreneurial. She built her own architectural practice from scratch, and then went on to drive the strategic growth of other respected architecture firms such as Marchese Partners and Woods Bagot.
Cathy’s core strength lies in her passion for great design outcomes that quickly develop and maintain stakeholder respect, trusting relationships and ongoing partnerships. Combine this with her strong communication and presentation skills, and her results-driven approach to all her projects and this is what makes Cathy a force of nature and a highly respected member of the Ridley team.
