Dr Michael Easson
As a highly ethical, capable and driven person, Michael Easson is an outstanding and sought-after company director with extensive experience at board and strategy level, including within Australia’s top 50 companies and industries.
Michael’s experience in infrastructure and property is extensive across both the private and public sectors. Having served as chairman and director on numerous boards, his experience with the principles, procedures, processes and practices of corporate governance means he is highly skilled to provide strategic guidance to Ridley as we continue to grow.
Michael’s background in property development, a Masters in Urban Development and a PhD mean he understands the need for good architecture, and the planning processes and government regulations related to major project delivery. He can offer support and guidance to project teams, instilling a desire for excellence.
Michael is co-founder and chair of EG, and is currently Chair of Icon Water (Canberra), Chair of ActewAGL (Canberra), and an independent director of ANZ (2000 Olympic) Stadium. Past roles include Directorships on the ING Real Estate Group, the predecessor of Goodman (Macquarie Goodman), Chair of the Project control group for the Defence Housing Authority’s Ermington development, and Chair, Ministerial Advisory Council on Skilled Migration.
In addition to being awarded membership of the order of Australia (AM) in 1997, Michael is an alumnus of the University of New South Wales, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford and Melbourne Universities and a non-executive Director and Fellow of the Australian Defence Association.
