March 8th, 2018.

Today is International Women’s Day, a day of global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The Ridley team celebrated in our offices internationally, with events being held in Sydney and Manila.
Today also kick starts our “Women in Architecture” blog series, where we hear from women throughout our company on their trials and triumphs of being a woman in the architectural profession.

Manila
Our Manila team celebrated the day with a morning tea, where everyone had fun sharing unique facts about each other over pastries, savory snacks, coffee and tea. To make the event more meaningful, we had a doctor who spoke about Cervical Cancer, and women’s health and wellness in general.
This day was also an opportune time to celebrate motherhood, as 3 of our ladies are expecting babies soon!  We ended the party with some baby shower games and gave the moms-to-be gifts from Ridley.

Sydney
Our Sydney team was lucky enough to attend the AIA’s Women in Architecture breakfast, with 2017’s Marion Mahony Griffin Prize Winner, Jocelyn Jackson delivering a key note speech around her experiences in the Architectural industry.
We also held a wellbeing session with Meredith Julliard from Project Livewell, speaking about the importance of resilience in the workplace and in life.
